Urban Paws UK is owned and managed by Layla Flaherty.

Layla worked as a professional model and television presenter for many years, and it was during this time that she built her knowledge of the talent industry. The genesis of Urban Paws UK began in 2014, when Layla spotted a gap in the market for a pet talent agency. When she was travelling the country to fulfil her various TV and Modelling commitments, she noticed a rise in popularity of animal talent. She has an eye for spotting potential animal actors and a passion for helping owners develop their beloved pets into stars. It is this talent and passion that inspired Layla to create a bespoke casting service.

Hence Urban Paws UK was born in 2015. Layla’s aim for the new company was to provide a range of customised services for our four-legged friends and put the pet’s needs first. It is this philosophy that has helped Urban Paws UK become the country’s best animal talent and casting agency.

Originally the agency focused on dog modelling, but it rapidly expanded into working with cats. After a number of successful campaigns, Urban Paws UK was then able to further expand its talent pool and it now boasts an array of wonderful creatures; from Tarantulas to Llamas. As an agency with its finger firmly on the pulse, Urban Paws UK also provides puppy and kitten models for hire.

In 2018, Urban Paws UK launched a Social Media Influencer service that links social media stars, bloggers, and ‘pet influencers’ with brands. This exciting way to reach new audiences has proven hugely popular and is a rapidly growing part of the business.
